Η ελληνική οικονομία μπορεί να αντιμετωπίσει περισσότερα προβλήματα μετά το προκλητικό ΟΧΙ των ψηφοφόρων στο δημοψήφισμα για τους όρους της διάσωσης, αλλά οι τουρίστες παραμένουν πιστοί στην Ελλάδα και η προοπτική μείωσης των τιμών, αυξάνει το ενδιαφέρον για διακοπές στην Ελλάδα, τονίζει σε εκτενές δημοσίευμά του το Reuters. 

Οι ταξιδιωτικοί πράκτορες στη Βρετανία, τη Γερμανία και τη Γαλλία δεν αναφέρουν ακυρώσεις μέχρι τώρα και οι κρατήσεις προς Ελλάδα συνεχίζονται κανονικά. 

Στην πραγματικότητα, οι αναζητήσεις για πτήσεις προς την Ελλάδα από τη Βρετανία και την Ισπανία τις τελευταίες ημέρες, έχουν αυξηθεί υποστηρίζει η μηχανή αναζήτησης Skyscanner. Συγκεκριμένα οι αναζητήσεις στις κρατήσεις για πτήσεις από τη Βρετανία στην Ελλάδα τον Ιούλιο και τον Αύγουστο αυξήθηκαν κατά 14%, μετά το κλείσιμο των τραπεζών στις 29 Ιουνίου, ενώ οι αναζητήσεις αυξήθηκαν 12% τον Ιούνιο σε σύγκριση με το προηγούμενο έτος.

Από την Ισπανία, οι αναζητήσεις για πτήσεις αυξήθηκαν κατά 20%, από 28 Ιουνίου έως τις 5 Ιουλίου.

Στη Γερμανία, η οποία έχει τηρεί μια σκληρή γραμμή για την Ελλάδα και η οποία φέρει το κύριο βάρος των διαδηλώσεων κατά των μέτρων λιτότητας στην Αθήνα, η χώρα παραμένει ένας δημοφιλής προορισμός.
"Εξακολουθούμε να λαμβάνουμε ακόμη κανονικά  κρατήσεις για την Ελλάδα και δεν υπάρχει καμία αλλαγή στα επίπεδα", δήλωσε εκπρόσωπος του γερμανικού βραχίονα της Thomas Cook, ενώ η γερμανική ένωση πρακτόρων σημειώνει  ότι οι κρατήσεις από το Μάιο έχουν αυξηθεί σημαντικά.

"Αυτή τη στιγμή η κατάσταση είναι business as usual. Δεν είχαμε καμία αναφορά για ελλείψεις στην Ελλάδα σε τρόφιμα, φάρμακα, ή κάτι άλλο" τονίζει εκπρόσωπος της ABTA.
Ο Γάλλος tour operator Heliades τονίζει ότι δεν προσφέρουμε σημαντικές εκπτώσεις γιατί οι πτήσεις προς Ελλάδα είναι γεμάτες, όπως και τα ξενοδοχεία.

H Βρετανία θα μπορούσε να στείλει εκατομμυρίων ευρώ στην Ελλάδα για να βοηθήσει τους Άγγλους παραθεριστές, αν οι ελληνικές τράπεζες "αδειάσουν" από χρήματα, τονίζει σε δηλώσεις του ο Βρετανός υπουργός Οικονομικών (σ.σ. προσοχή όσι συνάδελφοι γκουγκλάρουν δεν είναι Καγκελάριος...) It appears British holidaymakers are willing to overlook the worsening financial crisis in Greece – and its potential impact on the tourism industry – in order to save money on a holiday. New research suggests Britons are undeterred and their interest in visiting Greece has spiked even though the debt-stricken country is on the brink of exiting the eurozone and entering a new phase of uncertainty. With news of massive savings on package and self-catering holidays, online searches for flights from the UK to Greece have increased by 16 per cent since banks closed for business a week ago.

It comes as some travel firms have cut their prices by as much as 50 per cent on trips to some of the country’s most popular islands. 

While they are not advising against travelling to Greece, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and travel agents are encouraging holidaymakers to take a number of precautions. 

Locals are currently being limited to €60 (£42) a day when withdrawing cash from ATMs and there are no limits for tourists, although there are mixed reports on availability of cash, the Association of British Travel Agents reported.

Abta is also encouraging holidaymakers to take out travel insurance as soon as they book their holiday. 

Ιt added: ‘We do not anticipate that there will be any need for tour operators to rebook their customers to a different destination. ‘Reports from our members and holidaymakers on the ground suggest that it is very much business as usual in Greece and we have no indication that holidaymakers will be disrupted.’ Greece was plunged into further chaos after it overwhelmingly rejected Europe's latest bailout package in a vote yesterday. With all of the votes counted in a referendum that will shape the future of the continent, the 'No' campaign has a staggering 61 per cent of the vote.
