ASTA Announces Turkey Specialist Course
Alexandria, VA – ASTA is proud to announce its newest education course, The Turkey Specialist, which will teach agents how to become Turkey specialists by gaining a thorough knowledge of the destination and its myriad selling points. The course, which is divided into three sections, will illustrate how travel counselors can create vacations that mix history, culture, affordable luxury and more -- all with the aim of boosting agency profits.
“We just came back from an exhilarating week in Istanbul for our fifth annual International Destination Expo, exploring all the ancient city had to offer and I was more than amazed. Our members were excited to learn more about Turkey and take these ideas home to their clients,” said Chris Russo, ASTA president and chair. “This course will allow everyone to sell Turkey easily and expand their client base.”
“The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism was delighted by the agents’ enthusiastic response to ASTA Turkey Travel Specialist Course, which was previewed at the International Destination Expo,” said Nihan Bekar, director of the Turkish Culture and Tourist Office in New York. “The course, which comprehensively illustrates all Turkey has to offer in an engaging and comprehensive fashion, is designed first and foremost to educate agents on how to significantly boost their profits by learning all about the country and how to sell it.”
The course will provide information on Turkey’s cultural and historical importance in world history, a geographical overview. There will also be information on transportation, accommodations, cultural considerations and the wide array of activities available to travelers. The following major destinations will be covered as well: Istanbul, Marmara, Ephesus, the Turquoise Coast, Cappadocia, Ankara and more. Each touring region includes such subcategories as getting there, getting around, attractions, dining and entertainment.
The course will also teach agents how to sell and market Turkey, including how to qualify clients and create vacations suited to their particular demographics and interests. This section incorporates a range of sample itineraries along with a variety of cultural tours, religious pilgrimages, cruising, meetings and conventions and more.
The course price will be $39 for the PDF for ASTA members and $49 for non-members. The course will be available in June and ASTA will debut the course for a limited time at $29 for ASTA members and $39 for non- members.
